The Councils are valuable components of the Foundation and help carry out its mission, supporting young pianists and contributing culturally to the communities they serve.
The Florida Council was set up in 1979. Its about 300 members have been instrumental in fundraising, initiating programs and events, and assisting the Foundation during the National Chopin Piano Competition.
In 1983, the New York Council was instituted, helping to develop the Foundation's audience and support base in the northeast.
Subsequently, the San Francisco Council was organized in 1987 and in 2001 the Northwest Council located in Seattle joined the Chopin family. |
