We have reached registration capacity for Saturday. Join us SUNDAY or on the livestream
The Chopin Foundation's 2025–2026 season of CHOPIN for ALL concludes with a homecoming of a special kind: the return of William Yang, First Prize winner of the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition and one of the most acclaimed young pianists to emerge from that stage in recent memory. Nine months after his Miami triumph, Yang went on to capture Sixth Prize at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, drawing international critical attention and cementing his place among the leading Chopin interpreters of his generation. Join us as we close the season with a performance by an artist whose journey, in many ways, began right here.
Twenty-four-year-old pianist William Yang has emerged as one of the most compelling young Chopin interpreters of his generation. At the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition, he claimed not only First Prize but also the Best Mazurka and Best Sonata awards — a sweep that signaled something beyond technical mastery. His subsequent Sixth Prize at the Warsaw Chopin Competition brought his playing before the world, with Gramophone writing that he "approaches every phrase, every dynamic directive, every expressive indication as an art conservator might restore a painting by an old master, removing decades of accumulated dust and grime." Yang has performed as soloist with the Warsaw Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and has debuted at both Warsaw Philharmonic Hall and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. He holds a recording contract from his National Competition victory, with a debut recording forthcoming in 2026. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Kovner Fellow at The Juilliard School — where he studied with Robert McDonald — he continues his work at the Yale School of Music under his longtime mentor, Alexander Korsantia.

Outstanding young piano students from South Florida
in an ALL Chopin Program
Each spring, the Chopin Foundation presents a showcase of outstanding piano students under the age of 18 from across South Florida. Students are nominated by their teachers. They are selected to participate through an audition in front of a panel of professional pianists. This unique all-Chopin program is part of the Foundation’s mission to support and encourage the development of young American pianists.
The 2025–2026 season of CHOPIN for ALL continues with one of the series’ most cherished traditions: a special all-Chopin recital showcasing the best young pianists from South Florida.
Selected through a competitive audition process, these exceptional students—recommended by their private piano teachers—take the stage to share their interpretations of Frédéric Chopin’s timeless music. Saturday’s program features performers from Broward and Palm Beach Counties at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, while Sunday’s concert highlights Miami-Dade students at Granada Church.
Join us for this inspiring program featuring the next generation of pianists.
