Jury Announced for the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition

The Chopin Foundation of the United States is pleased to announce the jury for the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition.

Jury Chair Kevin Kenner (U.S.); Ning An (U.S.); Edward Auer (U.S.); Dean Kramer (U.S.); Jon Nakamatsu (U.S.); Ewa Poblocka (Poland); Antonio Pompa-Baldi (U.S.); Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń (Poland); and Margarita Shevchenko (U.S./Russia).

Our distinguished jury represents the leading interpreters of Chopin, and are award-winning artists from the Cliburn International Piano Competition, the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, and our very own National Competition.

Meet Our Conductor

Marzena Diakun conducts the Frost Symphony Orchestra for the final rounds of the National Chopin Piano Competition.

Marzena Diakun came to international acclaim after several concerts during the 2015/16 season with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. She is the winner of numerous prizes and awards, including second prize at the prestigious 59th Prague Spring Competition for Conductors (Czech Republic) and at the 9th Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors 2012 (Poland). Selection Jury

We are also pleased to announce the six-member selection jury: Kevin Kenner; Adam Aleksander (Canada); Ning An; Joel Harrison (U.S); Peter Miyamoto (U.S.); and Jon Nakamatsu. The selection jury uses their many years of cumulative experience to select the pianists who will compete for the $100,000 First Prize of the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition.
