Hailed by the LA Opusfor his “formidable display of pianism” and “impeccable clarity,” Victor Shlyakhtenko has appeared with ten orchestras in the US, soloed on the stages of Walt Disney Concert Hall and Carnegie Hall, and recently performed Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in the Leipzig Gewandhaus. He has received first prizes in the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Music Center’s Spotlight Competition, Kathryn Gawartin Chopin Competition and the Glendale Piano Competition, among others. Victor made his concerto debut at the age of 12, performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orange County Symphony. Since then, he has performed with orchestras in the US and abroad, playing concerti by Beethoven, Chopin, Grieg, Liszt, Mendelssohn and Mozart. Victor is a four year recipient of the Chopin Foundation scholarship program and attended the Frost Chopin Academy at the University of Miami. Victor is deeply grateful to his music teachers, Fabio Bidini (piano) and Maxim Eshkenazy (conducting) for their guidance and support. Victor intends to pursue a double major in piano performance and orchestral conducting.
